1. Jayson Tatum (bias alert: one of my favorite players) is undoubtedly a topfive5 player in the world, which he proved with his and the Celtics’ dominating play. This isn’t just a fluke or home court advantage – it’s great, old-fashioned game planning and execution of said gameplan.  The Celtics turned around their slow start to the year and are officially contenders in what seems like the toughest NBA Playoffs field of the last five years.
  1. Kevin Durant is not the best player in the world. This hurts for me to say as a fellow PG County native and somebody who watched KD at Montrose Christian and has seen him grow into the legend that he would become ,but he is no longer the best player in the world.  This isn’t meant to take away any credit from the Celtics and the way they constantly denied him on the perimeter and kept him off balance, so much so that he’s constantly uncomfortable while shooting his world class jumper.  Durant not only looked lost, not only looked scared, but most shocking looked unsure and was completely railroaded by the Celtics’ aggressiveness on defense. He’s also become a classic overthinker, and this post game interview supports that hypothesis.
  1. The last 30 seconds of the Mavericks and Jazz’s  game four made me want to do this. Two or three mental lapses in a 10-15 second span lead to a series tying win for the Jazz.
  1. I am still laughing at the fact that Joel Embid made that game winning turnaround shot while Drake was watching.  And after the game he walked into the same tunnel as Embiid, which wouldn’t matter so much if it wasn’t for the small fact that Drake is THE NATIONAL AMBASSADOR FOR THE TORONTO RAPTORS.  C’mon Drake, I thought it was no new friends (I couldn’t resist).
  1. That shot cemented Joel Embid as this year’s MVP for me.
  1. Karl-Anthony Towns finally got out of his slump.  In game 3 against the Grizzlies he reasserted his dominance and posted a dominant double double of 33 points and 14 rebounds.
  1. Jrue Holiday’s most underrated trait is his ability to stop opponents’ scoring runs on the defensive and offensive end.  It makes him essential in the playoffs.
  1. These tweets (skip to 10:58 mark) from Skip Bayless were over the top and absolutely gut wrenching hilarious. Like, so funny that even KD had to chuckle at the absurdity.
  1. The death lineup from the Warriors is really scary.  Like, alien in the alleyway from Signs scary.
  1. The fact that Devin Booker started game 3 with 31 points only to get hurt, be ruled out indefinitely, and lose the game is horrible luck for the Suns.  And really makes me question if Chris is cursed. Like, pissed off a Voodoo priestess cursed.
