We’re about 100 days out from a presidential election, and the Democrats have to build almost an entirely new ticket from scratch. We didn’t think we’d be here either, but luckily we’re never ones to shy away from discussion of composing a presidential ticket, so we know just how to help.

We debuted our 2024 Republican version last year as part of our continued Running Mates project focused on the American vice presidency, expecting the GOP to hold the only serious veepstakes this cycle. Given the scenario we’re now in, we threw some time into spinning up a 2024 edition of our Vice Presidential Power Index for the Democratic Party.

You can use this tool to pick a nominee out of all the major candidates seeking the Democratic nomination and determine their strongest vice presidential candidates (for expediency’s sake, only Kamala Harris is up there, but if more major candidates enter the race, we’ll update accordingly). Read about the methodology and our historical success in creating these indices here.
